I'm very much looking forward to reading BOATS ON THE BAY, along with sharing some boat songs, with the children at the wonderful Corte Madera library tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. I've had the privilege to share my other books there in the past, and it's always such a delight to be there.
I'm greatly honored that BOATS ON THE BAY, along with Cameron Kids' LOS ANGELES is..., has been included on the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBAWI) Reading List 2018.This great list helps teachers and librarians locate stories on certain topics or find books from authors and illustrators in their area.
I'm excited and honored to be participating this Sunday, November 11, in the Grand Reopening of the House of Happy Walls museum exhibits at the wonderful Jack London State Park. I'll be reading BOATS ON THE BAY at 2 pm and also leading a paper boat mobile craft project.
Jack London was not only an author, but also an adventurer and sailor out on the San Francisco Bay (as well as around the world) -- hence the tie-in with my book, BOATS ON THE BAY. I can't wait to see ALL of the new exhibits.
