I'm excited and honored to be participating this Sunday, November 11, in the Grand Reopening of the House of Happy Walls museum exhibits at the wonderful Jack London State Park. I'll be reading BOATS ON THE BAY at 2 pm and also leading a paper boat mobile craft project.
Jack London was not only an author, but also an adventurer and sailor out on the San Francisco Bay (as well as around the world) -- hence the tie-in with my book, BOATS ON THE BAY. I can't wait to see ALL of the new exhibits.

Featured Book: BOATS ON THE BAY
"This event is part of our "Write in Your Own Backyard Series," which spotlights the work of local and regional book publishers. This season's highlighted publisher is Petaluma-based Cameron & Company, specializing in “books that need to be books,” with a focus on photography, art, food/wine, children’s, and other publications of regional interest.
This large-format picture book about all of the boats found on a busy bay is inspired by the San Francisco Bay but with universal appeal. The book features a spectacular double-spread gatefold finale showing a boat parade and fireworks glowing against a city backdrop."

I had such a lovely time sharing BOATS ON THE BAY and MAYA LIN - ARTIST-ARCHITECT OF LIGHT AND LINES with other nonfiction children's book authors at the wonderful Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore in Berkeley. What a terrific audience of teachers and librarians!
